Business Units
In order to quickly respond to the challenges of globalization, ALTONA is organized in Business Units. Each Business Unit has its own production structure and technical support, Each Business Unit operates with their own objectives and goals aligned with the Company’s strategic business plan.
Currently, there are three business units in operation: “Repetitive Foundry”, “Jobbing Foundry” and the “High Alloy Foundry”. The machine shop also operates as a business to support the foundry Business Units.
Repetitive Foundry- UPR
This business unit is responsible for planning and executing the production of serial production items, particularly for customers in the construction and mining equipment industry and also heavy transport manufacturers.
Jobbing Foundry – USE
This business unit is responsible for the production of customized parts and assemblies. These are usually complex and large components, weighing between 100 and 10,000 kg. The quantities vary from one to hundreds of parts per item.
High Alloy Foundry: This business unit it is incluse in USE, and it is responsible for the development and production of parts made of various steels and special alloys, such as: Corrosion resistant and heat resistant stainless steels, high alloy abrasion and corrosion resistant irons, and nickel based alloys.
