Our Story
Starting from household and agricultural utensils, Electro Aço Altona S.A. was founded on March 8, 1924 as a small foundry and mechanical repair shop.
It was initially called Auerbach & Werner, after the names of the owners of German origin: the engineer Paul Werner and the blacksmith Ernst Auerbach.
The company grew and incorporated steel into its production line, changing its name to Electro Aço Altona in 1933. Thus was born the first steel foundry in Santa Catarina and one of the first in Brazil.
Over the last decade, it has acquired other companies to accommodate and expand its production line, as well as opened subsidiaries abroad to expand customer support in areas of greater commercial demand, such as Europe and North America.
Altona progresses continuously, always identifying the hottest sectors of the economy to expand its operations, developing new markets and providing its steel solutions to the most varied markets.
Altona values traditional human principles and values without giving up respect and ethics.
Innovating and investing in people, knowledge and technology, it is today recognized as one of the best companies in the world in the steel casting and machining sector for its quality of processes and respect for people and the environment.
