Social Responsibility

Integrated Management Policy

Occupying a leading position in innovation, Altona has instituted an Integrated Management Policy, which covers Quality, Environment, Safety, Occupational Health and Social Responsibility requirements.

This approach incorporates sustainability as a form of management to strengthen their business and be in tune with the environment in which they operate.

The company recognizes the importance of integrating environmental, social, and occupational health and safety concerns into its daily operations.

Through this policy, Altona seeks not only to ensure excellence in its products and services, but also to contribute to a more sustainable and responsible future, aligning itself with the expectations of the community and the market in general.

Integrated Management Policy

People Management

People Management

"Talents Generating Solutions".
This is the slogan that guides Altona's People Management policy.

Altona employs about a thousand people in Blumenau. For all of them, it offers adequate remuneration to the best references in the market, subsidized benefits such as transportation and food, comprehensive hospital health plan and profit sharing program (PPR). Technical, behavioral courses and assistance in training and specialization courses are also offered by the company, in partnership with the best educational institutions in their areas of expertise.

Creating an environment that provides a healthy organizational climate, where employees develop and innovate permanently, has been the purpose that leaders have sought to achieve.

Satisfied people are much more likely to think and offer innovative alternatives, so we systematically conduct organizational climate surveys, monitoring the following aspects: Professional Development, Recognition and Justice, Compensation, Health and Safety, Company Image, Leadership, Relationship and Communication. Improvement actions result from the organizational climate survey, to improve the points of lower satisfaction.

Community

The premise of the code of conduct is the relationship with the community and society of which it is part. Altona is committed to dialogue and active participation in the community in which it operates, collaborating with social, cultural and charitable programs, always seeking to build a better society.

In partnership with SENAI, Altona participates in the minor apprentice program, aimed at young people aged between 14 and 24. The program provides first contact with work and technical training.

Encouraging workers to collaborate with the community, socializing knowledge and volunteering is the company's objective with its participation in Junior Achievement, a program that interacts with young people from primary and secondary schools.

Environmental Responsibility

Environmental Responsibility

In its concern to preserve and care for the environment, Altona has an environmental management system in line with ISO 14001. Over the years, Altona has invested in several prevention projects to contribute to the environment.

In addition to the financial, productive and quality economic objectives, Altona spends resources to educate its employees with regard to the environment, directing actions towards sustainable growth. The purpose is to rationalize and prevent environmental impacts arising from the use of natural resources and the generation of waste.

We highlight the main actions implemented in this continuous improvement process:

  • Installation of the WTP-Altona own water treatment system;
  • Reuse of molding sand inputs, after operation, reducing consumption of new sand;
  • Exhaust system in the foundry and iron dust;
  • Sending hazardous and non-hazardous waste for co-processing and storage in an industrial landfill.

Awareness is a main factor when it comes to environmental management, so the system provides for the continuity of behavioral programs with all workers, also extending to the community.

It is with this thought that Altona has constituted the "QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY".
